Crap
Holy crap!Did you see that crap?Look at that crap!
We've all heard it, and probably used it,that ubiquitous four letter word... crap.
We all know what it means, literally, and now in modern vernacular its come to meanalmost anything. Really. Just abouta n y t h i n g can be referred to as... crap, but where did the term come from originally?
The story goes that a plumber named Thomas Crapperinvented the flushable toilet and had his namestamped on his products, and people started referringto indulging in a certain biological activity asgoing to the crapper, or taking a crap.
A good yarn, to be sure, but not exactly true.
While Crapper held several patents for improvingthe flushable toilet, he didn't actually invent it, andthe word itself dates back to a time before Ol' Tomwas even born, and most often referred to rubbish.
How 'bout that crap...
